The typically quiet NFL offseason was rocked on Monday when Kirk Cousins and Saquon Barkley, two of the most well-known players in their respective positions in pro football, flew the coop for the Atlanta Falcons and the Philadelphia Eagles, respectively.

According to his agent Mike McCartney, Cousins, who currently ranks fifth among all active quarterbacks, has agreed to a four-year contract with the Falcons and has left the Minnesota Vikings.

The 35-year-old cousin had played for the Washington Commanders for six campaigns before spending six seasons in Minnesota.

The NFL has not yet revealed its schedule for 2024, but each club is aware of the opponents they will face in the autumn. Coincidentally, the Falcons will be visiting the Vikings this season.

“Thank you to everyone who has shown me love and support over the past 6 years,” Barkley, a three-time 1,000-yard rusher with the New York Giants, wrote on X. eternally appreciative! eagerly for the upcoming chapter.”

After graduating from Penn State, Barkley, 27, was selected as the second overall pick in the 2018 NFL draft.

In 2022, he set a single-season career best for yards rushing with 1,312 yards at a rate of 4.4 yards per run. This helped the Giants finish 9-7-1 and make a surprise trip to the postseason.
